Locomotive pantograph is an important high-voltage electrical appliance for electric locomotive, and it is the power transmission medium for locomotive running. It transfers the high voltage of catenary to the transformer inside the locomotive, which is used by the whole locomotive system after transformation, which requires to ensure that the pantograph has good technical performance. In order to achieve this goal, we should not only strengthen the technical management of pantograph maintenance during locomotive repair, but also do a good job in quality inspection of pantographs for locomotives in and out of storage. We should also learn from the experience of online monitoring of operating equipment in power industry and use infrared thermal imager to monitor the running contact of pantographs in real time, so as to prevent the pantographs from being delayed for a long time and avoid accidents.
